In the song “Fear No Evil”, TRE COSMOS vehemently proclaims “Don’t get it mistaken, I’m a Christian but I’m STILL BLACK. Yes I’m college-educated but I’m STILL BLACK.” This statement became an anthem for many. In our current social climate it’s important to know that blackness is strong & beautiful. Blackness is diverse and comes in many forms. And regardless of your background, your education, your neighborhood, your social status, being rich or poor, famous or unknown, we are STILL BLACK. Those that hate blackness don’t care what attributes you bring, to them you are STILL BLACK. But those that celebrate & appreciate who you are and your unique blackness, in our eyes no matter where you fall on the spectrum you are STILL BLACK. Substitute the word BLACK for all the things it truly represents to US. You are STILL STRONG. STILL POWERFUL. STILL BEAUTIFUL. STILL INTELLIGENT. STILL A LEADER. STILL PURE. STILL ROYAL. STILL DOPE.

In some countries, flying a flag upside-down is conventional protocol to indicate an emergency or problem, or to indicate a state of war. This is not a war of Black vs. White, but of Racism vs. Everybody. We are at war with out-dated ideologies that have brought this country to unrest. And in protest, the flag is on our backs upside-down until the flag steps in front of us to fight for us. As black people, we walk through the valley of the shadow of death every single day, but we shall “FEAR NO EVIL.”
